Robert Gould is a practicing artist living and working in Brooklyn. He has exhibited his work in various solo and group shows in venues around New York and in Europe and Japan. Currently, he is focused on painting, drawing and photography. He works with many traditional and non-traditional materials. His art usually incorporates historical subject matter.

Robert Gould has always been making art. In high school he was named a Presidential Scholar and was awarded several National Scholastic awards. He received his degree in Fine Art Painting from Parsons School of Design where he studied with Sean Scully, Ross Bleckner, Judy Pfaff, and Ronald Bladen.

After graduation, Robert toured Japan several times and collaborated with two other artists, Douglas Durning and Simon Samaan, creating sound installations that they would interact with in performance. 1989 the trio was part of Art Basel sponsored by Gallery Lippmann. The group was also active in creating sound and sculpture installations around New York as well as creating soundtracks for various modern dance projects.

Robert continued working with sound professionally and scored and edited for theatre, television, and radio. He is currently the Technical Supervisor at Sarah Lawrence College where he teaches stagecraft.
